Carl’s a seasoned executive leader with over three decades of professional experiences in paramedicine, health professional education, regulation, and health system accreditation. He’s also an architect of impactful corporate strategies.
Carl is certified in Six Sigma, change management, and professional investigation. Additionally, he’s the Secretary of Knowledge at the Alberta Paramedic Association, and a recipient of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.
Career Highlights
- Managed large-scale funded projects to enhance health workforce capacity through international equivalency.
- Canadian health professional regulatory boards & agencies projects related to education, registration, conduct & discipline, labor mobility, entry-to-practice exams, code of ethics and practice standards.
- Engaged as inaugural Executive Director. Supported board and worked to ensure quality governance and organizational operations. Facilitated the completion of a multi-million dollar grant funded project dealing with professional foreign equivalency and examination.
- Spoke at Arab Health 2021, on “Enhancing Leadership Competency Through Quality Education Accreditation.”
- Developed and implemented operational plan in support of complex business renewal strategy. Oversaw the $165MM Fort Edmonton enhancement capital project and solicited $12MM in additional funding from the City of Edmonton.
- Led accreditation project for Cold Lake Ambulance Society resulting in achieving Accreditation Canada’s QMentum Accreditation.
